Don’t offend the laws you don’t know
So fare we’ve talked about you becoming victim of a crime. Did you ever think you could get in conflict with law? If you are uninformed it’s easier than you might like. Law differs between countries and even between different parts of a country. Some things which are subject to a fine at home are punished with several years of jail elsewhere. And it’s pretty sure you don’t want to do time in a jail in some foreign country.
Alcohol and Drugs
While at home it might be quit usual to seat in a public place and drink a beer in other places drinking or even carrying containers with alcoholic beverage is prohibited. Drinking alcohol might as well make you inattentive which makes it easier for thieves to steal your belongings. Furthermore alcohol can make it easy to provoke you.
Drugs are illegal in some way all over the world. But some countries are more liberal and others are less. In some countries like Singapore the possession of some grams of cannabis can lead to death penalty. The best thing you can do wherever you go is to stay away from drugs.
Topless at beach or hotel pool
You are lying on a great sandy beach and you want to take you bikini-top off? Hopefully you selected the right country. On some beaches everybody is lying and walking topless at the beach while in others it is prohibited. In some countries it’s generally prohibited but it’s accepted in hotels which are crowded by foreigners. And in some other countries being topless is subject to fines.
Sex on the beach and elsewhere
You spend the night in a beach bar and meet someone hot with whom you like to sleep with? What’s more romantic than to have sex on the beach? Unfortunately it’s something for your dreams and not to be put into reality. It’s illegal in most countries. Punishment ranges from a fine in to several years of jail.
Brutal punishment
Some countries a very conservative and are absolute no-go areas if you are seeking for flirts and related things. In those countries things which are perfectly ok in the western world are brutally punished.
In some countries having sex without being married or all kinds of homosexual intercourse are prohibited and may even lead to death penalty. In other conservative countries kissing in public is prohibited. So you better get informed before booking your vacation.
Don’t be rude
Even if something isn’t prohibited it doesn’t mean you can do it. You should respect the culture of the country you are traveling to. If something isn’t accepted you shouldn’t do it. Be nice, not rude.
